INCLUDE: Our Aims

  • To encourage multi-sectoral engagement with the UD framework, bringing together key learning influencers, such as student services, library services, estates as well as learning and teaching specialists;
  • To provide an international consultancy base regarding the scope and application of Universal Design in education;
  • To seek out and promote opportunities for collaborative international pedagogy and research focused on the design, application and impact of Universal Design throughout all sectors of formal and informal education;
  • To enhance global collegiality in the field of inclusive education through the formation of a community of professional practitioners for the expression of ideas or innovation in the field of Universally Designed education;
  • To explore the application of the UDL framework in meeting the learning requirements of students where intersectionality is a feature of being and identity.
  • To bring focus to the international quest for inclusive education in the pursuit of equal opportunity, and to strive for equality of learning and social engagement outcomes, for all members of the global community;
  • To promote Universal Design for Learning as a moral imperative and a socially just approach to achieving inclusive education;
  • To assemble an international cadre of recognized leaders in the field of Universal Design for Learning;
  • To respond to the ever-increasing call for guidance and counsel on the implementation of Universal Design for Learning, particularly in contexts of transnational collaboration;
  • To inform and direct national and transnational policies pertaining to Universal Design for Learning;
  • To showcase internationally culturally sustainable examples of best practice pertaining to the application of Universal Design for Learning;
  • To identify and disseminate the affordances of information technologies in relation to Universally Designed Education
